Team Building in Virtual Reality

Several companies offer team building in virtual reality but here at Brain Man Virtual Reality (BMVR) we do things differently.

While our competitors send a VR headset through the mail and train people how to use them via videoconferencing we think that’s very impersonal.

At BMVR we turn up in person because that’s the only way to really truly build rapport with each other before moving into remote communication.

We bring a VR headset for each team member and give individual training on how to set up the space, use the headset and troubleshoot common problems.

We then run through some very straightforward training on how to move around in the VR environment and interact with objects.

As you can see in the below footage, when people learn to do simple things in VR like throw and catch a ball, it rejuvenates them.

A playful, uninhibited mindset is well known to foster greater creativity and innovative thinking.

This segment both helps participants to gain mastery over the VR equipment AND cast off inhibitions by encouraging playful interactive behaviour.

Breaking the ice in Brain Man Virtual Reality (BMVR) Team Building

Then we do some BMVR team building activities - a completely unique, bespoke set of group activities designed to promote cooperation and creativity.

And best of all, the team can then choose another activity that we will build for them so that it’s ready to play just a few short weeks later.

The following week we all meet up in the BMVR space again for a motivational talk packed with practical tips on how to get more out of our brains.

Our MD Dr Jack Lewis has been on the motivational speaking circuit for over a decade, so you are sure to learn a huge amount from this.

In week three, the team meets up again in VR, this time so that each team member can practice presenting slides to each other.

And by week four, the team is in the rhythm of doing at least one VR meeting per week, to take advantage of the improved communication vs Zoom.

We do some more team building exercises, including playing the game or tackling the challenge elected during week 1.

From this point the team is ready to continue their VR adventure by themselves. BMVR is always on hand to create extra content. But for many clients they will simply continue meeting up in their own version of the Brain Man Virtual Space to hang out and discuss business matters, in a range of locations from around the world.
