VR Mindfulness Meditation

The brain benefits of mindfulness meditation are numerous. A meta-analysis (nothing to do with the company Meta!) of 20 years worth of scientific research into mindfulness meditation concluded that it is good for physical health, mental health and improves cognitive performance. And while mindfulness mediation is possible quite literally anywhere, some environments are more conducive to meditation for beginners and intermediates than others.

Since the early days of consumer-ready VR - i.e. when HTC Vive was the go-to VR headset of the masses and the Oculus Quest headsets were but a dream - various meditation enhancing virtual reality environments were already being made available. Fast forward five years and there are now several to choose from: Virtual Reality Meditation, Tripp and even VR fitness apps like Supernatural are getting in on the VR meditation game.

We are excited to announce that BrainMan VR have been invited to lend their expertise in neuroscience and immersive technologies to participate in a Northeastern University / University College London scientific study to investigate how Virtual Reality might be used to potentiate some of the well-known, stress-relieving impacts of mindfulness meditation. So not only are we revolutionising maths learning through EdTech, but we’ll soon be making a positive contribution to people’s wellbeing via MedTech. Watch this space…
